What is Happening?
At RSQ DOGS+ we are excited to involve the community. Check out our upcoming FUNdraising events. If you have any ideas for future events, we would love to hear from you.
Does RSQ DOGS+ take animals from the public?
As a general rule, no. Our first priority is to rescue animals from the underserved areas of rural Utah.
If you need to place your pet, we suggest that you ask trusted friends and family to help you find a new home for your animal. Social media may be a good resource, but please remember to charge a re-homing fee of (at least) $50.00 to increase the likelihood that your pet is adopted by a responsible loving home.
Occasionally, RSQ DOGS+ will accept animals from the public, but only in unique circumstances, for example, abuse, orphaned newborns, a deceased owner, any animal previously adopted from RSQ DOGS+, and litters of puppies or kittens on the condition that the mother be spayed. Our rehoming fee is $50. If you feel you have a unique circumstance, please call RSQ DOGS+ at 800-897-1136.
How much does it cost to adopt?
The adoption fee for puppies (8 weeks - 5 months) is $150, dogs (6 months to 9 years) is $130, and senior (10 years and older) and special needs dogs are $75. Adoption fees include all current vaccinations, altering, and microchipping.
The adoption fees for cats are $75 for adult cats and $85 for kittens and include all current vaccinations, altering, and microchipping.
What is RSQ DOGS+ policy on animals released to us from the Hildale/Colorado City Impound?
After an animal has been in the Hildale/Colorado City impound for the required "stray hold" time, in lieu of euthanizing the animal, the local police now calls RSQ DOGS+ to come get the animal and at that time the animal is legally released to us for vetting and adoption. If you see your lost animal on our FB page, website, or we scan the animal and find a microchip, here is our policy for you to claim your animal:
Proof of ownership
Initial pick up and vetting fee - $75.00
Medical costs incurred - Varies per animal
Per day boarding fee - $25.00
If you live in the Hildale/Colorado city area and are missing your animal, please contact the police impound within 3 days.
Can I take stray animals to RSQ DOGS+?
No, all strays need to go to appropriate municipal shelters to give their owners a chance to claim them. If they are unclaimed, then they will be placed for adoption.
What types of volunteer opportunities are available at RSQ DOGS+?
We have a wide range of opportunities, and every effort is made to match you with a volunteer position that you will love. We are always in need of loving foster homes for dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. We also often have special projects that we are working on that require hands on help. In addition, we hold several fundraisers and adoption events throughout the year and need help planning and staffing those events. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
Does RSQ DOGS+ accept donations of pet food / pet supplies?
Yes, we accept donations of all items at our facility. If you have large items that require a pick-up, please call us at 1-800-897-1136 and we will be happy to schedule a pick up.
